Alma Lewis James wrote her 1st edition in 1967. She then published a 2nd Edition in 1977. The 1st edition contains a lot of rare historical information about William T. Stackpole. For reasons unknown, almost all references to William T. Stackpole were removed when she published her 2nd Edition.

Her 1st Edition was transcribed into text by Dale C. Maley in March of 2026 to capture and preserve the valuable work done by Alma Lewis James.  A PDF and text version of her book was uploaded to Archive.Org so future generations can access this version of the book.

Her 2nd Edition can be purchased at the Fairbury Echoes Museum in printed format.
