In 2016, the Fairbury Improvement Group erected this set of 5 historic murals in Veterans Memorial Park. The five murals feature the railroad, coal mines, Francis Townsend, the Fairbury Fair and racetrack, and Agriculture (with John Virgin). The 5 lower text boxes explain the history behind all the images on the mural.
